The body knows. In this GAP Workshop, you’ll learn to listen.

This session introduces the felt sense — the subtle, body-based knowing of something, felt more than thought — and the technique of Focusing-oriented therapy that works with it. When we attend to the felt sense with curiosity and kindness, the body-mind system can move toward greater ease and balance.

Together we’ll explore how to apply this approach with clients in clinic, including the concept of finding the right distance — a way of relating to what arises so it can be worked with safely and effectively. A short live demonstration will show the technique in action.

You’ll come away with a practical understanding of the felt sense approach that you can begin to incorporate into your own sessions and work with others. While open to anyone, this workshop is especially valuable for students and graduates across both the Complementary Health and Transpersonal Therapy faculties.
