The simple things in life are often the best

a well-known phrase, but not one so well followed in life. There is an easy way though, to benefit from simple and natural living, with essential “tools” to help us along the way. Like fragrance essential oils which assist with: reducing stress, mood improvement and a promise of serenity, for a good night’s sleep.

Essential oils; unlike air fresheners that can trigger allergies, are a natural way to create a calming effect for the mind and body. The advantage of oils, when applied topically or aromatically, unites wellness and self-care body rituals for a holistic, aromatic approach to wellbeing.

Lavender– an essential oil that can be applied topically to the stomach and chest, has a fresh and calming scent, proven to ease both anxiety and insomnia.

Lavender can be helpful in treating the effects of migraine, headaches and depression. When diluted, lavender oil makes a great room diffuser.

A little goes a long way.

With many easy-to use types and designs on the market, essential oil diffusers are a common aromatherapy method. The aromatic profile of oil is a great replacement for chemical filled perfumes – a few drops are enough to richly fragrance a room.

Apart from the guarantee of a great night’s sleep, essential oil room diffusers are also helpful for levelling moods and to have in a home environment, particularly through seasonal changes. Diffuser devices disperse essential oils as a fine vapour throughout the air, so they can be absorbed gently into the body through the respiratory system.

Essential oils create a soothing effect when feeling stressed, and are known to relieve stress and pain, boost immunity, curb appetite, increase energy and enhance cognitive function. And, to improve respiratory health.

Recommended oils include:

  • Bergamot
  • Chamomile
  • Lavender
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Mandarin

Peppermint oil helps to ease a headache and is also a fabulous natural remedy to have in the car, to assist with motion sickness. When applied to the skin, (peppermint oil) warms the surface helping to relieve the pain underneath.

Can you smell it?

The benefit of using natural alternatives is found in scent. Natural reed diffusers are a fantastic way to absorb the fragrance of oils:

  • The essence of beautiful flowers, such as Jasmine and Frangipani, exhibit a floral aroma that is both sweet and elegant.
  • A vanilla scent provides an element of comfort for its soft and sweet fragrance.
  • White Lotus flower – (in some religions) symbolises a state of mental purity and spiritual
  • The fragrance of Patchouli has a calming and balancing effect. A scent known to enhance mood, fight depression and work as a bug repellent.

Fill your room with refreshing combinations – a few drops of peppermint, lemon and eucalyptus oil, and, have the confidence of knowing that only safe ingredients are within your home fragrances.

Find the oil that works for you – around the home and for the perfect body balance.
