Testimonials from our students

“I did the ICM course as I wanted to learn more about Chinese Organ theory, and what it could provide not only myself, but my clients. Doing the ICM course changed the quality of the sessions I was offering my clients. My Clinic has doubled in 1:1 clients over the past 12 months. Not only can I support them in my unique style, that is quite intuitive, I am able to add the knowledge of the ancient wisdom of Chinese Philosophy to support them to integrate the impact of specific psychology that is contributing to their symptoms. Thank you David Corby for adding this amazing course to the offerings at CCM. I am grateful I had the opportunity to do such a course.”

Tracey Gillis Sinclair

MBM, Kinesiology & ICM Graduate

“I’m immensely grateful to have studied ICM as it really permitted me to accurately integrate the knowledge learned in the MBM diploma and add more depth and clarity to subjects I previously shied away from. Being able to really pick the brains of teachers, who are experts in their modalities, regarding real life clients and receiving support on extended treatment plans really gave me the confidence I needed after MBM. You gain a range of additional tools from aromatherapy, structural techniques, TCM analysis and nutrition therapy, as well as a more profound understanding of various chronic disease/conditions and the clinical approaches to provide your client with the most holistic healing.  This course empowers you as a practitioner provides you with the knowledge and application skills to see visible shifts with your clients. I cannot recommend it more to all those who wish to learn, grow and  help others heal intrinsically.”

What’s in our Integrative Complementary Medicine course?

Get ready to embark on a varied and empowering journey delving into the following areas:

Kinesiology, Counselling and Practitioner Development

Includes the core of our other complementary medicine courses helping you become the best practitioner you can be. We teach you kinesiology to help your client connect their mind and body.  We also teach you to work effectively on a person’s physical body which is essential to restoring their overall balance and addressing blockages throughout their body.

We believe that the interaction between the client and therapist is crucial to the outcome. We teach client-centred counselling techniques and have a unique practitioner development program so that you become the best practitioner you can be.

Chinese medicine theory & acupressure

Here we draw from the 2,500-year strong wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine. As we believe an integrative medicine course in Australia should include aspects of Chinese medicine.

As the intellectual base for the program’s unique mind-body diagnostic system, you will learn Chinese diagnostic methods, the 5 elements and Bagua constitutions, the deep flows of the meridians, and how to select acupressure points to help your clients emotionally and physically.

Mind body medicine

Discover a comprehensive system for unpacking the meaning of specific symptoms and their link to major psychological patterns, a person’s behaviour and their body.

Graduates are then empowered to use a body psychology system along with counselling techniques to address the psychological drivers behind conditions.

Body therapy

Discover how to pinpoint problems and ease pain via a combination of orthopaedic and joint mobility assessments, trigger points and myofascial release techniques.

Nutritional biochemistry & food therapy

Nutrition is an important part of any good holistic training. By learning nutritional biochemistry, you will gain the knowledge needed to advise your clients on a dietary program that specifically tackles their condition.

Mitochondrial Therapy and Research

Mitochondrial therapy is crucial in understanding and helping people with autoimmune disorders. It explains the basis of everything from cancer to ulcerative colitis. Students also learn how to research and write treatment protocols for specific conditions. This enables graduates to feel confident working on just about any condition.

Western medicine pathology & diagnosis

Learning about conditions from a Western Medicine point of view and how Doctors diagnose conditions is essential for working professionally and integrating well with other health practitioners.

Aromatherapy massage

Discover how to apply aromatherapy (oils and massage therapy) to specifically address your clients’ needs and enhance their wellbeing.

Career Opportunities

This course helps create well-rounded practitioners who can offer a fully integrated set of complementary health solutions for their clients. Graduates are able to work broadly on a wide range of conditions and are well suited to working in integrated clinics or starting their own practices. Frequently asked questions

A holistic health practitioner is skilled at a number of holistic health approaches and is able to treat an individual as a whole. There are numerous holistic health courses that could lead to a career as a holistic health practitioner. It’s important to choose one from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to ensure quality of training.

Once you complete your complementary medicine qualification you can apply for memberships with an industry association. Some industry associations give you access to discounted insurance, which is strongly recommended to have if you intend on setting up your own clinic.

The time of study depends on the holistic medicine course a person studies and the type of study format they choose. A full time format would be quicker compared to a holistic course online. Generally it will take between 1 year and 4 years to become a fully qualified holistic health practitioner.
